  1. Why should I carry a Union Plus Credit Card?

    The Union Plus Credit Card has a great competitive rate and special balance transfer offers. These features offer significant savings when compared to other cards.

  2. Can anyone apply for a Union Plus Credit Card?

    No. The Union Plus Credit Card is available only to union members. It's one of the many benefits of union membership.

  3. How do I apply for a Union Plus Credit Card?

    Members of participating unions may apply online or call 1-800-522-4000.

  4. Am I guaranteed to receive a credit card if I apply?

    No. By applying for a Union Plus Credit Card, you authorize Capital One, N.A. to obtain a current credit bureau report and to verify the information on your application. Once Capital One, N.A. reviews the credit bureau and other information, it will make a decision. Please be advised that your union is not involved in credit decisions.

  5. Is the Union Plus Credit Card issued by the union?

    No. The Union Plus Credit Card is issued by Capital One, N.A. Union Privilege manages the Union Plus Credit Card program. The Union Plus Credit Card is endorsed by the AFL-CIO and affiliated unions that participate in the program.

  6. Why is the Union Plus Credit Card such a great deal for working families?

    The Union Plus Credit Card is the only credit card good enough to be endorsed by the AFL-CIO and affiliated participating unions. Program benefits were negotiated using the strength of the millions of union members.

  7. What should I do if my card is lost or stolen?

    Contact a Customer Care representative immediately at 1-800-651-5116 to report the loss or theft of your card. Keep in mind, you are not liable for fraudulent use of your Union Plus Credit Card.

  8. Can I use my card to get cash?

    Certainly. You can get instant cash at more than 911,000 automated teller machines (ATMs) and banks worldwide. For ATM locations, call 1-800-4-CIRRUS. Keep in mind that the cash advance rate may be higher than your everyday purchase rate. Check your Cardmember Agreement for details.

  9. What is a variable rate?

    A variable rate is a rate that can change based on the index. The Union Plus Credit Card, for example, uses the Prime Rate as an index. We use the Prime Rate published in The Wall Street Journal on the last day of the month.

Union SAFE benefits are provided and administered through the AFL-CIO Mutual Benefit Plan (“The Plan”). Certain administrative responsibilities for the Plan have been delegated to Union Privilege. Certain restrictions, limitations, and qualifications apply.
