3 Planning Tips for Your Entrance Exam

By Anthony Russomanno, Premier Tutor & Admissions Expert for The Princeton Review

  1. Pick a date and stick with it!  Commit to a test date and a preparation plan and stick to it. Everyone feels nervous in the days leading up to the test, putting it off will only prolong and amplify the anxiety.

  2. Your prep will take twice as long as you thought.  Pretty much everyone underestimates how much time they’ll need to get ready so plan accordingly.

  3. Stay focused.  It is quite easy to lose concentration and confidence along the way as you prepare.  Focus and persistence will keep you on track.  This even includes the day of your exam.  Forestall that moment when you give up and begin to stare at the ceiling tiles.  Multiple-choice exams are about staying engaged for as long as possible.  Think positive, concentrate on your own work and put the exam in perspective. Remember, you are in control.
